HISTORY

DIG IN TO OUR ROOTS

Eutaw Construction was founded in 1980 by Thomas S. Elmore, who moved to Aberdeen, Mississippi, to manage the Aberdeen Lock and Dam construction on the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway. Inspired by the foundational strength of the local Eutaw clay, Tom set out to build more than just roads and structures.

He built a company grounded in hard work, technical expertise, and a deep sense of integrity. Eutaw has evolved from a small local contractor into a trusted leader in heavy civil construction, proudly serving a wide range of clients.

For more than four decades, Tom led the company as President, Chairman of the Board, or both, guiding it through steady growth while staying true to its core values. In 2012, Tom and other shareholders transitioned Eutaw to 100% employee ownership through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), a rare structure in the heavy civil construction industry. This move empowered every employee with a direct stake in the company’s success and reinforced our culture of accountability, pride, and shared purpose.

In 2022, the Eutaw Board of Directors appointed Jonathan Hust as President and Lane Williams as Executive Vice President. Together, they continue to lead Eutaw with the same commitment to grit, innovation, and integrity that has defined the company since day one. Under their leadership, Eutaw’s team of employee-owners continues to DIG IN and deliver safe, high-quality infrastructure while embracing challenges, advancing solutions, and strengthening communities.
